I would be amazed if someone really thought they had rather go to
hell than do something, whatever it is, that God had said do in order to be saved. The key
I would suggest when anyone is objecting to baptism, lies, not in the baptism but in the
faith. In Galatians 3:26,27 Paul wrote, "For
you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, for as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on Christ." Being baptized is simply
an act of faith on the part of one who belives the Lord and wants to be in a relationship
with Him. It is baptism which puts one into Christ. Why would anyone who really has faith
have any objection? Without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews
11:6).
Think of what would have happened to Noah if he had refused to build
the ark or Abraham if he had refused to leave Ur of the Chaldees. When we refuse obedience
it is always a lack of faith in Him.
