Week of September 13, 2026

Announcements

  • City Connections hygiene drive — all month

September is hygiene product collection month, partnering with City Connections to serve Little Rock students and their families. Drop items in the collection bin in the lobby any Sunday this month.

  • Ministry Leaders — meeting moved to 9/21

The Ministry Leaders meeting got pushed back a week, to September 21. Come prepared with your 2027 dates and budgets — keep an eye out for RSVP info.

  • Men's Golf Tournament — Driving for Diapers — donations through Wednesday

Central's annual golf tournament, Driving for Diapers, is September 19 at 7:30 AM at Rebsamen Golf Course. Donations to benefit the players of your choice are being accepted through Wednesday, September 16 — write the golfer's name clearly and large on your pack of diapers so they get the credit.

    Contact Josh Ward.

  • Men's Retreat — Roots Run Deep

A weekend of faith, fellowship, community, and adventure for the men of Central, September 25–26 at Corin Read Christian Camp in Bauxite. $20 covers lodging and meals. If you haven't signed up yet, now's the time — tell your friends. RSVP by September 20 for details.

    Contact Ben Thomas.

  • New classes starting in September

Sunday morning Adult classes are underway with a study of Luke this month, running through the end of November — handy pre-work heading into Advent season. The new Sunday class, Bible 101, is underway too: no expertise needed, just questions. Find it upstairs in the SGC Library, facilitated by Shannon Cooper — seats are limited. Wednesday night classes turned over this past week — it's not too late to join Wrestling with God, a new women's class in Fellowship West with Abbie Miller leading a practical guide to abiding with God through seasons of wrestling with Him. Helping Hands is on pause while the women's class meets, expected back in October.

  • A new fall workout class — Up in Arms — starts this week

Up in Arms, a class for anyone who wants to intentionally build strength in mind and body, kicks off Wednesday, September 16, at 6:30 PM in the gym — six weeks, wrapping up at the end of October. Reach out to Josh Ward for details or to donate equipment.

    Contact Josh Ward.

  • Central Teens — fall sign-ups are open

Sign-ups are live for the Campout and Fall Retreat — check the shared Google Doc for all the details. Note: the Teen Campout location moved from Woolly Hollow to Lake Ouachita — same dates, adjusted fun. Central Teens' small group kicks off at the Mosley's on September 13 — RSVP for a food headcount. Also: SDC is waitlist only now, so pay today to confirm your spot before it spins out September 26.

    Contact James Mosley.

  • Ladies Day — October 24

The annual Ladies Day at the Adkisons' is October 24 — mark your calendar, save the date. Guys, that Saturday is officially a Dadurday.

  • Small Groups — kicking off this week

Small Groups are kicking off this week, with more starting next week. If you've held off on signing up, there's no time like the present — fill out the sign-up form on Facebook or the HUB, or reply to the weekly email to get connected.

  • Around the building

Take a glance at the desk in the lobby — a little collection of items left behind over the past few weeks is waiting to be claimed (that travel mug you've been missing might be there). Some kid items are in the blue bin in the Kids Area hallway too. And our resident "wee church mice" have been leaving behind empty communion cups around the auditorium again — sleight-of-hand pros, save the tricks for family game night and toss your cups on the way out.

  • Reserving a room

To use any space in the building, call or email Jessica in the church office to reserve it.

    Contact Jessica Ward.

Prayer

The full prayer list is in the printed bulletin and the weekly email. It names people and their circumstances, so it stays off the public site. We’re praying for our missionaries — the Bills family in Ghana, the Cerecedos in Mexico, and the Daggetts in Peru — for our service members, and for our neighbors who are seeking the Lord.
